The Center for Developing English Language Teaching (CDELT), affiliated to Ain Shams University and located at the Faculty of Education in Roxy, was established in 1976 to serve the development of English Language Teaching on the national scale. The center aims at developing the curricula of the English departments in Faculties of Education at Egyptian Universities.  The Center organises training courses for English language teachers in the general education system and also organizes the annual national symposium and publishes an academic journal for members of university staff. The center offers training courses for junior university staff, assistant lecturers and teachers and inspectors at the Ministry of Education.
